About Octagon Studios
Octagon Studios Performing Arts Centre situated centrally in Ely High Street is managed by Katherine Marshall and prides itself on providing its pupils with exceptional tuition in the performing arts. Now going into its fifteenth year the studios trained teachers are ex-professional dancers and performers. These include a Vaganava trained Russian ballerina, Nataliya Lebedyeva; Kerrie Farrington who teaches ballet, jazz, street dance, musical theatre and contemporary dance and who also taught at Urdang Academy in London; local actor, director and teacher Barry Evans, plus Lara, Cliff, Sam, Brian and Jonathon on the music staff.
Joining the studio this term is Nikki Dyer. Nikki trained at Sylvia Young Theatre School and Bird College and has performed extensively in the West-end and on tour. She is a welcome addition to the staff. Amongst other genres, she will be teaching ISTD Tap Dance.

Many of the studios pupils have gone on to train at prestigious vocational centres such as The Royal Ballet School, LIPA, Urdang Academy, Guildhall College of Music & Drama and London Studio Centre as well as Universities specialising in Performing Arts Courses.
We have a full term–time programme and hold a four week Summer School during August plus various professional workshops during the year. At the centre we also teach GCSE Dance, GCSE Music and GCSE Drama and 'A' Level Dance with excellent results.
We have a thriving music department and as well as singing lessons we offer tuition in piano, recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, violin, cello, guitar etc. Associated Board of the Royal School of Music exams are offered including the Music Medals Award Scheme for group tuition classes.
We offer 'outreach workshop projects' in dance, including GCSE and 'A' Level Dance and Drama plus peripatetic music lessons to local schools, colleges and community groups via our sister company Elysian Performance Group.
Octagon Studios is run by professionals who are highly qualified in their own right. All staff have up to date police checks and the Studios are fully insured and registered with DfEE. Our aim is to look to the future in the constantly changing world of performing arts and help you to achieve your ambitions and enjoy your classes.
